Structuring a Client Presentation:

Writer: Bridget K. BrownBridget K. Brown

When coaching a client recently, I used a “sticky” storytelling approach to shape a presentation on a topic that just about everyone has heard before:

“How to live a full life over 50.”

Here is why my client got RAVE reviews:

 - We Led with a Simple Core Idea “You are Not Dead Yet!”

 - Use Unexpected Twists I know! Let’s pretend they know the date of their death!

 - Make It Concrete: Use specific, vivid examples to turn the abstract into something tangible.

 - Add Emotional Pull “What have you always wanted to achieve?”

 - Close with a Memorable Call to Action: You’re not dead yet so what are you going to do now?

And get the following audience response: “I can’t stop thinking about that talk!”

Hope that helps!
