Here’s 4 lessons I never expected when I began helping people conquer their fear of public speaking:
(1) Fear Isn’t Forever
The initial fear of public speaking often masks a deeper anxiety about being seen or judged.
💡 Reframe your fear as an opportunity to connect.
(2) Connection Over Perfection
Audiences respond better when speakers focus on connecting, not on delivering flawless presentations.
💡 Be human, not a robot.
(3) Change Isn’t Overnight
Overcoming speaking anxiety takes time, practice, and a few “failures” along the way. And more practice.
💡 Small steps lead to big results.
(4) Growth is always Uncomfortable
Facing fears doesn’t feel great at first. BUT, it’s in the discomfort that true growth happens.
💡 Lean into it!
PS: Every challenge has a silver lining. I have had students who claim that their lives have changed!
